Rustins Exterior Masonry Paint Review

Starting off with a small paint shop in Shoreditch, London, in 1924, Rustins have grown into one of the UKs best exterior paint producers. Their speciality paints are trusted by DIYers and professionals alike for their no-nonsense approach to quality products.

We took a closer look at their quick dry masonry paint in matt white, and really liked the fact that it’s water based. They’re much easier to clean off brushes, the smell isn’t so bad, and you don’t need to worry about using thinners. In fact, it’s one of the best exterior masonry paints, oil or water based.

Basildon Paints Smooth Masonry Paint Review

Located in the south of Essex close to the mouth of the Thames estuary, Basildon Paints supply a huge range of paints to trade and public customers. They make some of the best paints for exterior walls that we’ve come across.

The monster 20 litre tin of smooth masonry paint we looked at is enough to paint up to 300 m², which should be more than enough paint to tackle even a large house. It leaves a brilliant smooth finish and there will probably be enough left over for multiple coats.

Conclusion

When we put together the best masonry paint review, we realised there are a lot of good paints out there for when you need to spruce up your home and protect it against the elements. But there needs to be a winner, so the brilliant reputation and wide colour choices of the Dulux Weather Shield have won it for them this time.
