Window Squeegee Buyer’s Guide
A window squeegee will get your windows and shower screens gleaming, offering the perfect finishing touch. Capable of removing the most stubborn of streaks, a window squeegee is a must-have for anyone who prides themselves on beautifully clean windows!
Not sure what to look for when it comes to the best window squeegees? Take a look at this buyer’s guide.
Cleaning Width
The cleaning width is an important consideration, as a smaller squeegee might mean more work for you! Squeegees with a cleaning width of 30cm or wider tend to be best for windows, while smaller squeegees are better for shower screens and car windscreens.
Design
Squeegees tend to boast a similar design, with a few extra features to aid ease of use. An integrated storage hook or suction cup will make storing your squeegee easier. Some have flexible blades that ensure they work even on rippled surfaces, while others come with a sponge on one side so they can be used for both cleaning and wiping.
Handle
The handle will directly influence the ease of use. Look for a rubber grip handle that fits comfortably. For cleaning taller windows, a telescopic handle is the best option. Many window squeegees come with the option of purchasing a telescopic handle separately.
Window Squeegee FAQ
How to use a window squeegee?
Using a window squeegee is very easy, but if you do it wrong you may end up with smears. To start, use a scrubber or sponge to wash your windows, working at all angles to clean the edges. Then tip the squeegee so that the corner of it is in contact with the glass. Clean a narrow strip of glass from the top to bottom.
Put the squeegee blade against the top corner of the window, and pull it steadily across the window, keeping the top of the squeegee in contact with the top edge. Wipe the blade clean once you’ve pulled it across the window, then repeat, with the top of the squeegee overlapping the previous stroke by a couple of centimetres.
Once you’ve covered the entire window, use a towel or rag to wipe the excess water from the very bottom of the window.
Conclusion
A window squeegee will help you get your windows gleaming and free from streaks in just a few minutes. For its high-quality stainless steel construction, double sided rubber blade and range of sizes available, the GBPro Window Squeegee is our top recommendation.
